Grosvenor Square planning application submitted

December 2021

Following several years of local engagement and 4 public consultations, we have submitted the planning application for Grosvenor Square to Westminster City Council.

The designs have been informed by an extensive multi-year public consultation, gathering over 3,300 responses. Thank you to everyone that took part and gave feedback during this process

Designed by architects Tonkin Liu alongside renowned horticulturalists Nigel Dunnett and Gary Grant, the renewed garden will celebrate and restore the square’s historic features. It also introduces new elements including an education centre, biodiverse planting, wildlife habitats, water features and new play spaces.

The submitted designs would transform Grosvenor Square into a world-class public green space. They enhance biodiversity, enable climate resilience, and celebrate the Square’s rich history, whilst supporting education and community wellbeing.

Our ambition is to create a garden that meets the needs of a modern city, to be enjoyed for years to come.
